NGS’s approach to assisting clients pursue new business is a balanced approach that focuses their business pursuit strategy on the retention of major clients while developing a careful and measured approach to pursing opportunities with new potential customers. At its core, NGS believes a strategic business growth strategy must include generating significant recurring revenue from major accounts from select group of worthy clients. Such a strategy generates sufficient revenue to underwrite the business development costs associated with acquiring new worthy customers and pursuing new lines of profitable business.
In determining who are worthy customers, NGS’s strategic business growth strategy identifies effective approaches to mitigating weaknesses in client’s selling process and improving customer selection discipline. Lack of such discipline can lead to unplanned customer fee adjustments in addition to dissatisfied and even litigious customers. This strategy is conveyed in a well-articulated framework that our clients can use to decide which customers to sell to and service.
Business Capture – At the business pursuit level, NGS collaborates with clients in assessing potential opportunities to determine which opportunities are worth attempting to capture. During the Capture Management phases on pursuit, NGS assists clients in maximizing the probability of winning a particular business pursuit by developing an approach that identifies and leverages the necessary resources, relationships, and processes, to win. NGS helps clients develop deep understanding of the requirement, determine what to specifically offer in their proposal, create winning strategies, and to identify and make resource decisions. NGS collaborates with clients in assembling a winning team to capture the lead. The team requires knowledge and skills in marketing, corporate strategy, proposal development, finance, pricing, contracts, project management, human resources, and subject matter expertise. When the RFP is released and the capture management phase of the pursuit comes to an end, NGS coordinates with their clients to ensure effective hand off to proposal management team.
Proposal Management – NGS collaborates with clients in assisting to manage the process of winning new work by producing high-quality proposals. Implementing a successful proposal management process is critical to consistently producing winning proposals. In this process, NGS helps ensure critical data and information from the capture phase is integrated into the proposal management process. As the team moves into the proposal formulation phase, NGS assists clients in establishing a proposal content process intended to ensure all critical data and information is available to the proposal writing team before they initiate the writing process. This helps to ensure proposal is both realistic and feasible.
